摘要 PURPOSE:To check a wheel slip to a running road surface and improve the extent of travel stability, by increasing the extent of transfer torque capacity in a differential limiting device of a center differential gear at the time of snow or rain in comparison with time other than that. CONSTITUTION:In case of a 4WD vehicle, power of an internal combustion engine 10 is transmitted to both axles 94 and 96 for symmetrical front wheels and a rear-wheel drive shaft 58 via a 4-wheel driving transfer device 14 and an automatic transmission 2, this 4-wheel driving transfer device 14 is provided with a center differential gear 42 which performs a differential action between front and rear wheels. And, at an interval between these symmetrical front wheels, there is provided with a front differential gear 82. In addition, the center differential gear 42 is provided with a differential control clutch 64 which is controlled by a hydraulic controller 74. In this case, this hydraulic controller 74 is controlled by a controller 100 so as to increase the extent of transfer torque capacity in the differential control clutch 64 at the time of snow or rain when a windshield wiper switch 10 is made in circuit in comparison with time other than that.
