[Also in Division H3] A sensing device for reading information in the form of holes punched in a tape consists of a number of photo-electric devices 32 each having its output connected to a transistor circuit 36 (see Division H3). In order to prevent unwanted operation due to fluctuations in light intensity which may arise from nonuniformities in the tape &c, the circuit 36 is arranged to have a predetermined threshold which must be exceeded before the circuit 36 will produce an output. |
