Tower comprises vertical guide slats for horizontally flowing air. The water flows down under gravity through successive layers of (vertical) slats. The slats in any one layer are in vertical planes intersecting those of the layers above and below and droplet interceptors redistribute the film at the top level of each layer, preventing droplets falling down through the air paths.
