PURPOSE:To obtain the title recording medium reduced in the effect due to the surface of paper to be transferred and performing transfer of high image quality and having good resolving power by providing a release layer between a base material and a heat-meltable ink layer and adding an epoxy resin having predetermined softening temp. and a colorant to the heat-meltable ink layer as main components. CONSTITUTION:A release layer is provided between a base material and a heat-meltable ink layer and an epoxy resin having softening temp. of 115-160 deg.C is used as the binder of heat-meltable ink. As the base material of a thermal transfer recording medium, papers such as condenser paper or glassine paper or membrane sheets or films composed of plastics such as polyester are used. In the release layer, silicone resins, higher fatty acids, metal salts of higher fatty acids, fatty acid derivatives, higher alcohols or waxes are used. Especially pref., waxes are used and, for example, waxes used as the binder of the heat- meltable ink, for example, paraffin wax, low MW polyethylene, alpha-olefin oligomer or modified matters thereof are designated. As a colorant, black type dye or pigment such as carbon black, oil black or graphite can be used. |
