PURPOSE:To enhance the strength of an AlN sintered compact while maintaining high heat conductivity by applying a thermal shock to the AlN sintered compact. CONSTITUTION:A heated AlN sintered compact is rapidly cooled by putting in a liq. at a temp. below the heating temp. to apply such a thermal shock that thermal stress acts as tensile stress on microcracks in the sintered compact not to accelerate the propagation of the micro-cracks. |
