PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To adjust white balance appropriately even if there is a discrepancy between a RGB output ratio in the center of an image and that of a peripheral area of the image due to an angle of incidence or intentionally applied difference by a shading correction characteristic. SOLUTION: A white balance adjustment area setting apparatus includes: an image acquiring means for acquiring the image including uniform objects taken by an imaging apparatus; a RGB output ratio calculating means S14 for calculating the RGB output ratio in the center of the image acquired by the image acquiring means; an image area calculating means for calculating the image area of which RGB output ratio is within a fixed range from a reference value, which is the RGB output ratio calculated by the RGB output ratio calculating means; and a white balance adjustment area setting means for setting the image area calculated by the image area calculating means as the white balance adjustment area to the imaging apparatus.
