PURPOSE:To provide a light-weight and inexpensive picture input device capable of obtaining high resolution and having a practical and wide visual angle range. CONSTITUTION:While scanning an original, a partial picture is picked up by an image pickup part 1, partial picture sequence picked up by the image pickup part 1 is fetched in a pickup image synthesizing part 3 and the parallelism and rotational angle of a partial picture fetched this time with respect to a partial picture fetched just before this are detected by an image distortion detecting part 31. An image distortion correcting part 32 corrects relation between the partial picture fetched this time and the partial picture fetched just before this in accordance with the parallelism and rotational angle detected by an image distortion detecting part 31, a partial picture inserting position calculating part 33 calculates the inserting position of the partial picture fetched this time based upon a corrected output and a synthesized picture storing part 4 generates a synthesized picture of respective partial pictures based upon an output from the synthesizing part 3. |
