1314993 Monoaze dyestuffs FARBWERKE HOECHST AG 4 June 1970 [4 June 1969] 27004/70 Heading C4P The invention comprises water soluble monoazo dyes of formula wherein A represents a 1- to 2-naphthol radical not substituted by an amino or arylamino group; B and B<SP>1</SP> each represent a radical of the benzene or naphthalene series; Y represents a bivalent radical of formula -SO 2 NH-, X represents a group of formula linked to A or to A and B or to A and B<SP>1</SP> in which X represents OH or an inorganic or organic radical which can be split off by an alkali; Y<SP>1</SP> represents -CH 2 - or -CH 2 CH 2 -; q is 0 or 1; m is 0 or 1; p is 1 or 2 and n is an integer from 1-5. The dyes may be obtained by diazotization a coupling and optionally subsequently converting the group Z, if it represents OH, into another group Z, e.g. by esterification. The dyes give red, orange and brown shades or natural and regenerated cellulose fibres, natural and synthetic polyamide fibres and on polyurethanes. |
