1301336 Supporting elongated elements to prevent slack therein P KONINGS MACHINEFABRIEK IJZER-EN METAALGIETERIJ NV 5 Oct 1970 [4 Oct 1969 31 July 1970] 47245/70 Heading B8B A support device for one or a plurality of flexible elongated elements 3 extending between a fixed and a movable station comprises a guide strip 1 and an auxiliary strip 12 defining an open ended loop path 5 between the stations, at least the strip 1 having a relaxed crosssection of curved profile for rigidity in the straight runs and being elastically deformable to assume a flattened cross-section in the loop region and elastic seal elements 14 being provided along the edges of at least one strip. The strip is anchored at the two stations by clamps having like curved profiles. The elements 3 are located relative to each other by elastic bands 6 wound in criss-cross manner therearound. The guide strip 1 may be covered either by a similarly profiled but inverted strip or by a plane strip, the adjacent edges of the two strips provided with the seals, seal only in the straight runs of the strip. In the embodiments of Figs. 7 to 9 (not shown), the guide strips are covered and seals are provided secured to one strip and movable across the other strip to maintain a seal when the two strips are flattened. Fig. 10 (not shown) shows strips of undulating profile. In the further embodiments of Figs. 11-15 (not shown), the elongated members are located within the closed cavity of the guide strips by longitudinal or transverse guide members which maintain the elongated members on the central axis of curvature in the loop portion. |
