PURPOSE:To provide a video display device constituted so that the unnatural way of viewing is eliminated and a stereoscopic effect can be easily obtained by arranging visual field frames between LCDs and eyepiece optical systems so that the display screen of a picture is viewed through the visual field frames by an observer. CONSTITUTION:The picture for a stereoscopic video is guided to the left and right eyeballs 3L and 3R of the observer from the LCDs 1L and 1R functioning as a picture display means through the visual field frames 4L and 4R regulating a visual field range and the eyepiece optical systems 2L and 2R. Then, the picture and the images of the frames 4L and 4R are enlarged and projected in the air. As for a congestion angle formed by positional relation between the left and right eyeballs of the observer and the image at this time, the LCDs 1L and 1R, the frames 4L and 4R and the optical systems 2L and 2R are arranged so that the congestion angle 2theta at the image positions where the images of the frames 4L and 4R are enlarged and projected becomes larger than the congestion angle 2theta0 at the image position where the picture is enlarged and projected. |
