PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an alicyclic diisocyanate composition for extremely activating a urethanization reaction, containing no impurity, capable of providing a polyurethane having improved weather resistance, etc., by including an alicyclic diisocyanate compound containing a fixed amount of a protonic acid as a main component. SOLUTION: This composition comprises an alicyclic diisocyanate compound of formula I (Y1 is a bifunctional saturated hydrocarbon, preferably a 1-10C alkylene) (e.g. 3-isocyanatomethyl-5,5-dimethylcyclohexyl isocyanate) containing a protonic acid (preferably a saturated organic acid) as a main component. The compound of formula I is obtained by reacting a dialkyl carbonate prepared without using phosgene with an alicyclic diamine of formula II. The amount of the protonic acid added to the alicyclic diisocyanate compound of formula I is preferably 1×10-7 to 1×10-1 equivalent based on 1 equivalent of NCO group. |
