The invention provides an apparatus for moulding plastic sheet material. The apparatus is formed by a trough with an opening in the bottom. Clamped on top of the trough is the plastic to be heated. Through the opening in the bottom, a shaft carrying a platform can be moved back and forth. The platform carries the mould. After heating, the shaft is pushed up manually, without mechanical aids. The opening in the bottom is closed by means of a screw cap. The mould is now pushed by the platform into the soft plastic, and the air is drawn from the tray. The plastic now adopts the shape of the mould. If a blow-formed article is to be made, the platform has no function. The cap seals the opening. The blow-forming mould (female mould) is now arranged above the plastic. After clamping and heating, air is pumped in. The plastic is now moulded.
