PURPOSE:To provide a glass compsn. for sealing which is adequate for sealing to glass for illumination and metallic materials and permits improvement in lamp illuminance in particular, by using PbO-B2O3 low melting glass as its component and consisting the same of specific ratios of glass powder and filler powder. CONSTITUTION:This glass compsn. is the PbO-B2O3 low melting glass compsn. of <=370 deg.C softening point consisting of 70-95wt.% glass powder and 5-30wt.% filler powder. A preferable example of the glass powder for forming the PbO-B2 O3 low melting glass having <=370 deg.C softening point is the glass powder consisting, by weight per cent, of 75-90% PbO, 5-20% B2O3, 0.5-5% Si2O3, 0.5-3% Al2O3, 0.5-2% Bi2O3, 0.5-2% in total of Li2O and Na2O, and 2-12 F<->. The glass compsn. for sealing is constituted of 70-95wt.% such glass powder and the balance filler powder, for example, 5-30wt.% zirconium silicate.
