The disc-shaped device is turnable, and engages with a contact surface from below, on the foil edge strip. The device is positioned to engage the strip when it is freed/being freed by the fastener unit of the foil feeder. The RPM of the disc device on the contact surface is at least temporarily faster than the speed of the foil feeder. The disc contact surface has an angled shoulder so that the outer edge has a slower circumferential speed than the inner side.
