1304093 Three component catalyst containing two transition metal compounds VEBACHEMIE AG 16 Feb 1970 [15 April 1969] 7318/70 Heading C3P Olefins are polymerized in the presence of a catalyst comprising (a) a mixture of halogenfree organic titanium and vanadium compounds, (b) an organo-metallic chloride or bromide, which may be formed in situ, and, optionally (C) an aluminium tri-alkyl or a zinc or cadmium alkyl. In typical examples ethylene is homopolymerized or copolymerized with propylene, butene-1, or 4-methyl-pentene-1 in the presence of Ti(OC 4 H 9 ) 4 , Ti-(naptholate) 4 , Ti-(acetylacetonate) 4 , Ti-(O 2 C.C 7 H 15 ) 4 , Ti-(OC 3 H 7 ) 2 (O 2 C.CH= CH.CO 2 ) 2 or tetratris-(hydroxy-exo-dihydrodicyclo - pentadienyl) - titanate, VO(OC 4 H 9 ) 3 , VO(O 2 .C.C 3 H 5 ) 3 , V(O 2 C.CH 3 ) 4 or VO-(acetylacetonate) 3 , and Al(C 2 H 5 ) 2 Cl, Al)C 2 H 5 )Br 2 , Al(C 2 H 5 ) 3 + AlBr 3 or AlCl 3 , Al(C 2 H 5 ) 2 Cl + Al(OC 2 H 5 ) 2 Cl, Al(i-C 3 H 7 ) 2 Cl or Al(C 2 H 5 ) 2 - (OC 2 H 5 ) + AlBr 3 , in some cases with additions of Al(C 2 H 5 ) 3 + ZnCl 2 or ZnBr 2 , ZnCl 2 + Zn(C 2 H 5 ) 2 , Al(C 2 H 5 ) 2 Cl + Zn(C 2 H 5 ) 2 , Zn(C 2 H 5 ) 2 alone, ZnCl 2 +Cd(C 2 H 5 ) 2 or Cd(C 2 H 5 ) 2 alone. |
