PURPOSE:To obtain a junction between each two adjacent electrode terminals, which junction has a good mechanical strength, when said electrode terminals of electrode plate groups are connected together through a through-hole formed in a partition wall of a battery case, by forming one of the electrode terminals into a female shape in which a connector hole divided by a central partition wall is formed and the other electrode terminal into a male shape having a protrusion, and fusing the partition wall and protrusion to connect them together. CONSTITUTION:A protrusion 2' of a male electrode terminal 3' provided on a connector band 1' for positive electrode plate group 4' is inserted into a through-hole 9' formed through a partition wall 10' of a battery case. On the other hand, a connector hole 6' of a female electrode terminal 7' provided on a connector band 5' for negative electrode plate group 8' is positioned in a face-to- face relation with the protrusion 2'. The hole 6' and protrusion 2' are fused together by means of a flame 13' produced by a gas burner or the like, thereby connecting the positive and negative electrode plate groups 4' and 8' in the adjacent cells. The female connector terminal 7' includes in the vicinity of its central axis control partition wall 15. Furthermore, an annular rib 14 of a conical cross-section is formed on the upper periphery of said hole 6'. The annular rib 14 and partition wall 15 are fused upon connecting both electrode terminals, thereby contributing to a good connection. |
