<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain compounds having in their molecules structures contributing to high hydrophilicity and having high photopolymerizability, as well as polymers of such compounds and to provide methods for producing the compounds. <P>SOLUTION: The method for producing a diol (meth)acrylate compound (1) containing a urethane bond comprises urethanizing a cyclic ketal (3) with a (meth)acryloyloxyalkyl isocyanate (4) to give a cyclic ketal (meth)acrylate compound (2) and subjecting the compound to hydration ring-opening reaction in the presence of a catalyst in a water-containing organic solvent. The diol (meth)acrylate compound (1) and the cyclic ketal (meth)acrylate compound (2) are polymerizable raw materials for their polymers and are widely useful in the field of coating, adhesive, molding material, ink, printing material, electric insulating material, optical material, dental material, medical material, etc. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
