PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid-state image pickup apparatus which can be saved as a finished product without being discarded as a defective product, even if DC failure is caused due to dust in pixels, thereby improving a production yield. SOLUTION: Separating circuit sections 3, 4 and a correction processing system section 9 are used to, for example, separate DC failure portion caused due a short-circuited signal line in a pixel and solve a leak current. First, detection of an address of an inter-wiring short-circuit section is detected by a certain method such as detection of defective column-row in a pixels, etc. Then, the wiring of the address is electrically disconnected and brought into a floating state, resulting in a state where a leak current is not generated. However, if a pixel drive signal line or a vertical signal line is electrically disconnected, the electrical signals of the pixels of the corresponding row or column cannot be read, resulting in poor image quality owing to a line fault.
