<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically execute color matching adjustment in conditions where it is highly needed, to easily detect deviations between superimposed images of respective colors, and to improve the reliability of detection, regarding a color image forming apparatus for forming respective color clear images on a photosensitive body and superimposing and transferring them on transfer paper, and the automatic control of the color matching adjustment. <P>SOLUTION: The color image forming apparatus wherein respective color latent image forming mechanisms 6a-6d and respective color developing mechanisms 7a-7d are respectively made into units and can be exchanged, is provided with a unit exchange detection means, and the color matching adjustment CPA between a plurality of formed images of different colors is executed in accordance with the detection FPC=1 of unit exchange. The exchange detection means is provided with microswitches 69a-69d and 79a-79d for detecting the presence/absence of the mounting of the respective units to a machine body, and detection action elements 64 and 74 to be moved for switch action linked with the drive of image forming function elements 62 and 73 inside the units though they are at a non-acting position at the time of new supply in the respective units. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
