<p>Cellular or spheroidal graphite, esp. of the type 'AGSR' (RTM) is used as a collector for solar radiation. The collector may be formed by cylindrical rods machined to take copper tubes, or by a cast plate in which the tubes are laid. The assembly is positioned above a reflector of aluminium the surface of which is gilded or silvered. When its surface is porous or roughened, the reflection from the graphite is practically zero, and it has a very high thermal conductivity. It is light in weight as well as highly resistant to corrosion.</p> |
