PURPOSE:To easily produce the titled compound in high purity, by reacting a compound such as bicyclo[2,2,1]heptene-5-carboxylic acid methyl-2 ester with an amine substance in the presence of a strongly basic catalyst and removing the catalyst from the reaction system prior to the cracking of the reaction intermediate. CONSTITUTION:A compound of formula II (X is dialkylaminoalkylamido of formula III, dialkylaminoalkyl ester of formula IV, monoalkyl or dialkylamido of formula V, etc.; R3 is 1-3C alkyne; R<4> and R<5> are H, 1-3C alkyl, etc.) is produced by reacting a compound of formula I (R1 is H or alkyl; R2 is H or 1-4C alkyl) with a primary amine, secondary amine or alkanolamine in the presence of a strongly basic catalyst. The catalyst remaining in the reaction liquid containing the compound of formula II is removed e.g. by neutralizing with an acid and removing the formed salt. The obtained reaction mixture is directly cracked to obtain the objective compound of formula VI without using a fractional distillation process. |
