PHOTOSENSITIZER EMBEDDED POLYMER CARRIER AND A METHOD FOR ENHANCING PROLIFERATION OF VASCULAR CELL

The present invention relates to a photosensitizer-included polymeric carrier, and to a method for promoting proliferation of vascular cells using the same. According to the present invention, the polymeric carrier, which is produced by adding a photosensitizer in a polymeric substance, can produce active oxygen species by photoirradiation. The carrier and the method make a difference from an existing method which involves stimulation of formation of active oxygen species in cells by directly injecting a drug-like photosensitizer into the cells. In addition, the carrier and the method ensure regulation of productivity of active oxygen species in a level that vascular cells can proliferate, thereby promoting proliferation of vascular cells. Such advantage can be applied to enhance the success rate in artificial blood vessel transplantation.
