PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To speedily input characters with a small number of keys by assigning a consonant and a vowel to one key and assigning plural keys to each vowel, and performing conversion according to plural inputted keys and their order. SOLUTION: A consonant corresponding to KANA (Japanese syllabary) to be inputted is inputted and then a vowel is inputted. An operator refers to labels added to a keyboard and inputs the numeral corresponding to the consonant of the corresponding KANA. Then a conversion processing means 150 stores the inputted numeral key and uses the numeral key to retrieve whether or not the corresponding KANA is registered by referring to a conversion dictionary 130. When there is the corresponding character as a result of the retrieval, the character is displayed and a numeral key inputted after it is regarded as an object to be converted. When there is no the corresponding character in the conversion dictionary 130, it is decided whether or not the number of the unconverted numeral key is smaller than a specific value. The numeral is displayed as it is and a numeral key inputted next is regarded as an object to be converted. |
