Means for operating turning tools 6 of a cutter head 5 rotatable about a bar 3 in an automatic lathe comprises tool-holder shafts 8, each having a lever 10 which is operated by an axially movable pressure key 12 to swing a tool into an operating position, thus giving independent functioning and individual operation of each tool. A pressure key 12 is moved by an extension 12<SP>1</SP> connected to an interior ring 14 by springs or transverse keys. The interior ring is connected to an exterior ring 15 which is in a slide arm 16 positioned on a slide 17. The keys 12 are in grooves 11 in a spindle 1. Movement of tools 6 away from bar 3 is produced by the weight of tool-holders 7 acting about the shafts 8. |
