MULTI-STRAND CONTINUOUS CASTING

In a continuous casting process, several moulds are oscillated by a mechanism that is independent of the space between the moulds and depends entirely on the dimensions of the Cu plate and water cooling jacket for each mould. The cast product leaving the mould is drawn out by means of several drive rollers which are coaxially mounted on shafts. Arrangements reduce the space required for a multistrand plant and the requirements for separate ancillary plant for each strand.
