PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provided an internal combustion engine improved to reduce a change-over time for a fuel injection device, comprising a main combustion chamber 11 and at least one front chamber 12 communicated with the main combustion chamber through a blow opening 17 or a blow pipe so that fuel is filled into the front chamber through at least one fuel injection device 19 attached to the front chamber, the injection device having a nozzle needle valve 20 operable to open/close an injection nozzle 23 of the fuel injection device depending on its position. SOLUTION: The nozzle needle valve of the fuel injection device uses a controllable magnet 25. The magnet attracts the nozzle needle valve against the closing force of a spring element 24 during power feeding to directly operate the injection nozzle to be opened. The spring element pushes the nozzle needle valve against the injection nozzle during no power feeding to the magnet to close the injection nozzle. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
