PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high performance organic thin film device excellent in carrier mobility employing aπconjugated compound where a hydrocarbon aromatic group and an aromatic group containing fluorine are bonded as a charge transportation material. SOLUTION: The organic thin film device contains an aromatic compound containing fluorine represented by formula (1), where, Ar<SP>F</SP>is a perfluoro aromatic group selected from an (n+1)-valent perfluorobenzene group, an (n+1)-valent perfluoronaphthalene group, and an (n+1)-valent perfluorobiphenyl group; Q is a phenyl group, n is 1 or 2, p is an integer of 1-3, V is a fluorine atom or a univalent aromatic group containing fluorine when p is 1, a single bond, a carbon-carbon double bond, a carbon-carbon triple bond or a bivalent aromatic group containing fluorine when p is 2, and a trivalent aromatic group containing fluorine when p is 3.
