A liquid crystal display and a driving method thereof are provided to remove a transfer frequency conversion circuit from a timing controller and a data driving circuit by increasing a duty ratio of the timing control signal. A plurality of gate lines are arranged to be crossed with a plurality of data lines in an LCD panel(70). A first control signal generator generates a data timing control signal including a source output enable signal having a duty ration between 20% and 60%. A second control signal generator generates a first and a second gate output enable signal having a duty ratio between 20% and 60% and also generates a gate timing control signal including a first and a second gate start pulse which have different pulse width. A data driving circuit(72) supplies a positive/negative polarity data voltage and a black gradation voltage to the data lines in response to data timing control signal alternately.
