Provided is a packaging material for a suture thread with a needle such that it is possible to take out a suture thread with a needle accommodated therein without the suture thread becoming entangled and such that the suture thread is less likely to rub against a point on the packaging material. The packaging material (10) has a configuration with three or more folds for accommodation of a suture thread (30) with a needle. The packaging material (10) has a curved cut-out portion (20) in an end portion of the packaging material (10) when opened. When the packaging material (10) is folded so that the curved cut-out portion (20) is to the inside of the packaging material (10), a crease and the curved cut-out portion (20) form a passage hole (25) for the suture thread (32). When the accommodated suture thread (30) with a needle is to be taken out of the packaging material (10), the suture thread (32) can be passed through the passage hole (25).
