PURPOSE: To correct a light output of a laser light source to be optimal when recording and reproducing are made by accurately measuring a recording layer temperature of the magneto-optical disk without using a special magneto-optical disk. CONSTITUTION: Temperature sensors 15, 16 consist of thermister, for example, and the temperature detection signals from the temperature sensors 15, 16 are converted into digital signals by a sensor processing circuit 25 and the two signals are outputted to CPU 21 as a temperature TU detected on the upper surface of a disk 2 and a temperature TL detected on the back of the disk 2. The CPU 21, by presuming a temperature of a recording layer 2a on the disk 2 from the detected temperatures TU and TL and outputting a correction signal corresponding to the presumed temperature to LD power controller 23, corrects the light output of the LD7 to be optimal when recording, reproducing and erasure are made. |
