PURPOSE:To obtain a numerical controller which is not affected by the movement of an object to be controlled nor by the length of a cable, by transmitting and receiving the command signal and the signal showing the action amount of the object to be controlled through a transmitter and a receiver. CONSTITUTION:For the construction data sent to a machine tool 6 from a numerical controller main body 1 in the form of a command signal, the parallel electrical signals received from the main body 1 are converted into the series electrical signals by a conversion circuit 32 and then into the infrared rays. These infrared rays are transmitted by radio to a receiver 34 from a transmitter 33. The infrared ray signals received by the receiver 34 are converted into the serial electrical signals by a conversion circuit 35 and then into the parallel electrical signals. These parallel signals are sent to the machine tool 6.
