PURPOSE:To make the positioning of a cap-form metal and the welding work easier by forming a saw-toothed part to the cylinder of the cap-form metal and pressing in it to gear to the inner surface of the cylinder of an anode metal. CONSTITUTION:In a sodium-sulphur cell in which the inside of the cell is partitioned into a cathode chamber R1 to store sulphur and an anode chamber R2 to store sodium by a solid electrolyte tube 6 connected to an insulator ring 1, an anode metal 8 which consists of a cylinder 8a and a flange 8b is connected by a thermal pressure to the end surface of the insulator ring 1 at the flange 8b. At the same time, the sawtoothed part 9c of a cap form metal 9 with the saw-toothed part 9c formed around a cylinder 9a is pressed in and geared to the inner surface of the cylinder 8a of the anode metal 8, and the upper end edge e2 of the cylinder 9a and the upper end edge e1 of the cylinder 8a of the anode metal 8 are sealed by a weld 5B. As a result, the installing positioning of the cap-form metal to the anode metal, and the welding work while keeping the inside of the cell container vacuum can be carried out easily. |
