It is envisaged to arrange curved guide blades resembling Grothues spoilers in front of the ring nozzle on the ship's outer skin. Consequently, the guide blade has an entry tangent corresponding to the entry of a local boundary layer flow as downdraft, and has an exit tangent which is directed essentially orthogonally with respect to the entry plane of the ring nozzle.
