CATALYST FOR FORMATION OF CARBON TO CARBON BOND FORMING REACTION AND METHOD FORMING CARBON-CARBON BOND

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid catalyst for carbon to carbon bond forming reactions based on 1,4-addition of an aromatic boronic acid compound to a conjugated enone compound, a catalyst which is easily separated from the products and employs an industrially available and inexpensive support and a method of forming a carbon to carbon bond using the solid catalyst.

SOLUTION: The catalyst comprises a hydrotalcite support and rhodium supported with the hydrotalcite support and is used in the carbon to carbon bond forming reactions based on 1,4-addition of an aromatic boronic acid compound to a conjugated enone compound. The method of forming a carbon to carbon bond enables the addition of an aromatic boronic acid compound to a conjugated enone compound through 1,4-addition under wet conditions.
