<p>PURPOSE: To provide the color image processing method and device by which a conversion speed is increased by decreasing a capacity of a storage element regardless of decreasing a revision error in the process of converting an output signal of an image input device into an intermediate coordinate system. CONSTITUTION: The color image processing unit is provided with a primary TM section 30 that obtains a model variable of a linear conversion matrix with respect to an entire selected color sample to convert output signals R, G, B of an image input device 20 with respect to the color sample into a value in a color space, an area discrimination section 40 that grasps the error characteristic based on the converted value of the color space outputted from the linear TM section 30 and discriminates and divides the area, and an area dependent TM section 50 that selects an area dependent model by the area discrimination section 40, stores a model variable and converts the color space value converted from the R, G, B signals into a final color space value. Thus, the hardware is simplified and made small in size.</p> |
