PURPOSE:To provide a metallic carrier for catalytic apparatus which prevents the breakage of the joint between outside plates of a roll-shaped honeycomb and is lightweight, easy to be manufactured, and less expensive. CONSTITUTION:A thin, belt-shaped plane plate 1 and a corrugated plate 2 overlapped through a brazing material are wound up into a honeycomb body 11, which is covered by an outside cylinder 12 through a brazing material to form the metallic carrier 10. The length of the outside cylinder 12 is made shorter than that of the honeycomb body 11. One outside cylinder 12 is attached to the inlet side end or in the middle of the honeycomb body 11, or two outside cylinders 12, 12' are attached to both end of the honeycomb body 11. |
