PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processor for vehicle capable of accurately detecting the optical axis deviation of an image pickup means at high speed and at a low cost. SOLUTION: In this image processor for vehicle, in respect to an image picked up by an image pickup part 1, in front of a vehicle, lane borderlines L1 and L2 on both the terminals of a traveling lane are extracted by a recognizing part 2, widths Xa and Xb between lanes at two vertical points on the images of the lane borderlines are calculated by an arithmetic part 3, and a change quantity in the optical axis of the image pickup part 1 is calculated from a ratio Xa/Xb of the width between the lane on this image is calculated. Thus, the optical axis deviation of the image pickup part is calculated from the image picked up by the image pickup part 1 by the arithmetic part 3 without coordinate transformation, an arithmetic load is reduced and a processing speed is accelerated.
