PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aqueous ink composition for a writing tool which can suppress the precipitation of a pigment in an aqueous ink composition for a writing tool and suppress the precipitation of the pigment when used for a low-viscosity ink for a writing tool.SOLUTION: There is provided an aqueous ink composition for a writing tool which comprises water, a microcapsule pigment including a functional material and titanium oxide nanotubes. The functional material is a reversible thermochromic composition comprising (a) a component composed of an electron-donating colorable organic compound, (b) a component composed of an electron-accepting compound and (c) a reaction medium for reversibly causing an electron donating and accepting reaction in a specific temperature region.SELECTED DRAWING: None
