<p>Dyeing fibres of polymers containing acid groups with azo dyes in which x = CO or SO2, R1, R2, R3 and R4 = H, F (not R3 and R4), Cl, Br, NO2 (not R3 and R4) and lower alkyl and alkoxy groups and R4 may also be -NHSO2B or -NHCOB where B = a lower alkyl, Ph or Ph-R, group R5 = H, or a lower alkyl, -C2H4OH or -C2H4CN group, each R6 = a lower alkyl, benzyl, -C2H4OH or -C2H4CN group, and n = 2-4, or quaternary ammonium salts of such dyes. The yellow-to-orange dyes produce light-fast, colour-stable, sublimation-resistant dyeings. Dyeing acid-modified nylon and acrylic carpet fibres with dyes of formula (I) in which R1-R4 = H, R5 and R6 = Me or Et, n = 2 and x = Co para to the azo group or SO4 para or ortho to the azo group.</p> |
