1,111,179. Coining. L. SCHULER G.m.b.H. 13 March, 1967 [9 April, 1966], No. 11551/67. Heading B3Q. A coin-press comprises a segmental edgemilling ring 22 forced into a closed position against a frusto-conical surface 23 by a thrust member 18, and a spring 16 between the member 18 and a punch 2 so that continued movement of the punch to effect coining after the member 18 has closed the ring 22 causes compression of the spring. Upper and lower coining dies 3, 5 are provided, and the lower die also ejects the coins. The thrust member 18 is retained on the end of the punch 2 by a sleeve 14 centred by screws 15, and has recesses 21 for a blank-feeder (not shown). As the punch descends, the ring segments 22 are pushed away from a stop-ring 28, against the action of return springs 25, until the ring is closed. |
