The splicing chamber forms inlet channel to the vulcanisation chamber. The splicing chamber has a circular entry section for material, an extruder head with circular outlet and channel for material to be vulcanised. A spherical joint with a channel and external spherical connector engages with the inlet and outlet channels. This element allows relative rotation between the ball joint and the extruder head and between the ball joint and the splicing chamber. The material to be vulcanised can pass through the ball joint channel from the extruder head into the splicing chamber.
