The quantity of fuel injected is more finely adjusted (14) in accordance with the operational parameters of the engine by an electronic arrangement of a linear stepping motor (21) and full-load and idling adjustment levers (22,29) which are actuated selectively by the linear motor (21) to operate the levers (2,3) of the pump. An actuator (23) co-operates with stops (27,28,33,34) so that in driving and idling conditions only one pump lever (2 or 3) is so influenced. ADVANTAGE - Free adjustment of angle of supply for idling and driving is possible with operation of engine even with damaged components.
