PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fiber optic plate which outputs bright rugged images, is easily mountable to a photodetector and is compact even after mounting. SOLUTION: This fiber optic plate 1 has an input end face 4 comprising surfaces 21 and 22 inclined at a slant angleαat which the disturbance light from the inside of the air is removable and, therefore, the fiber optic plate is capable of outputting the rugged images having the high contrast like heretofore. Since the plate has the output end face 4 perpendicular to the axial line of a unit fiber, the rugged images are eventually made incident substantially perpendicularly on the input surface of the photodetector when the output end face 4 is butted and fixed against and to the input surface of the photodetector. The bright rugged images are thus obtd. Further, since this fiber optic plate has the shape that the plate extends in a perpendicular direction from the output end face 4, the fiber optic plate is relatively easily mountable at the photodetector with the high accuracy.
