摘要 PURPOSE: To decrease damage of a composite body when lightning strike occurs by placing a nonwoven nickel-coated fibrous layer on a structure and then, applying a coating on the fibrous layer. CONSTITUTION: A method for performing lightning strike protection on a composite multiply structure by improving electrical conductivity is provided. At first, a nonwoven nickel-coated fibrous layer is placed on the structure and then, a coating is stuck on this fibrous layer. In this case, a nickel-coated paper may be placed on the structure. In addition, the nickel-coated paper is pref. selected from a group consisting of carbon fibers, aramide fibers, glass fibers and boron fibers. In addition, the structure may include the upper ply of the nickel-coated fibers. In addition, a urethane can be applied on the fibrous layer. In addition, the structure is prepd. by sticking a paint on a composite substrate and providing a nonwoven layer of nickel-coated fibers embedded in this paint and the nickel-coated fibers under an electrically contacting condition with the substrate.
