PURPOSE:To evaluate the life of a battery by immersing a carbon plastic electrode into an aqueous solution of dilite sulfuric acid having a certain specific gravity, oxidizing the electrode through electrolysis having a specific current density, and measuring the voltage characteristic in electrolysis. CONSTITUTION:A carbon plastic electrode is immersed into an aqueous solution of dilute sulfuric acid having a specific gravity of 1.2 or so, and oxidized through the electrolysis with a current density of 10-40mA/cm<2>, and the voltage characteristic in electrolysis, the surface roughness of an electrode in electrolys is and after the completion of the oxidation deterioration, and the separation state of carbon cloth after electrolysis are measured. Further, as for the electrode after the oxidation deterioration, the reaction overvoltage of bromine is measured by a ZnBr<2>+Br<2> liquid, and the life of a battery is evaluated on the basis of each measurement value. Accordingly, quantitization is enabled from the surface roughness of the electrode. |
