<p>An eye shield supported by a head band or cap is made from transparent matl. which will block ultraviolet light and suppress glare from vehicle headlamps. The shield is curved to protect the eye from lateral beams, esp. reflections from side mirrors of lightbeams from overtaking vehicles, to reduce occular dazzle or fatigue for drivers of slow (goods) vehicles. The screen may be extended across the front of the face to also provide protection from oncoming lights. Pref. the screen is made from cellulose acetate incorporating a bluish tint. Pref. the screen is 3-8 cm deep and is supported 6-12 cm from the brow by a suitable peak secured by an elasticated headband opt. secured by hooked pile fabric anchorates. /3.</p> |
