PURPOSE:To pattern the surface of a fabric used in the skin material or decorative material of a furniture with flock like projections, by a method wherein a thick layer comprising thermoplastic resin and a fabric are superposed to a substrate while two layers or more of metal nets different in mesh densities are further superposed thereon and the whole is pressed under heating. CONSTITUTION:A substrate 5 preliminarily impregnated or coated with synthetic resin is coated or printed with thermoplastic resin to gel said resin or a thermoplastic rsin film is laminated to said substrate 5 to provide a thick layer 4 and, after a fabric 3 is superposed thereon, two layers or more of metal nets different in mesh densities are further successively superposed thereon from a net having a denser mesh. The whole is heated and pressed while passed between press rolls 6 to embed the fabric into the patterned thick layer of the thermoplastic resin under pressure and a large number of flock like protections are formed to the fabric surface of the metal net side in the embedded part in a patterned state while the fabric not provided with the thick layer is secured to the substrate 5 to apply the titled pattern.
