PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a biaxial base isolation testing machine wherein a horizontal load cylinder is hardly damaged, even when repeated loads in the vertical direction and in the horizontal direction are applied simultaneously to a specimen such as base isolation rubber. SOLUTION: The horizontal load cylinder 8 is arranged fixedly on a bed 1, and a horizontal load yoke 11 supported movably in the vertical direction on the bed 1 is displaced by driving the horizontal load cylinder 8, and the horizontal load yoke 11 is connected to an upper platen 3 to which the repeated displacement in the vertical direction is applied, by a link rod 12 whose both ends are supported rotatably around horizontal axes 31, 32 relative thereto. The displacement in the vertical direction of the upper platen 3 only rocks the link rod 12, and is not trasferred to the horizontal load cylinder 8, resulting in no damage.
