PURPOSE: To provide manufacture of a plate for a battery whereby a prescribed amount of slurry-state active material can be stably efficiently applied onto a substrate. CONSTITUTION: In a method of manufacturing a plate for a battery making a substrate 30 pass through in a tank 20 pressure-filled with a slurry-state active material 10 to apply the slurry-state active material 10 onto the substrate 30, an amount of applying the slurry-state active material onto the substrate 30, drawn out from the tank 20, is measured. This measuring result is fed back to a feed amount of a pump, to automatically control the applying amount.
