PURPOSE: To continue the drive of an uninterruptible power supply without its stopping when a regenerative power is generated, by sensing the voltage of its DC circuit whereby its converter and inverter circuits are connected and sensing an inverse power generated by its load, and by switching the converter circuit from a forward-conversion mode to a regeneration mode through deciding the generation of the regenerative power. CONSTITUTION: In an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) comprising a high- power-factor converter circuit 1, an inverter circuit 2 and a battery 3, a DC voltage sensing circuit 4, an inverse-power sensing circuit 5 and a regenerative- power decision circuit 6 are provided additionally. Further, when a regenerative power is generated on its load side and the DC voltage of a DC circuit 4a exceeds a reference value preset in the regenrative-power decision circuit 6, the control of the converter circuit 1 is switched from a forward-conversion mode to a regeneration mode. Then, when the generation amount of the regenerative power on the load side is reduced and the DC voltage of the DC circuit 4a is lowered to a smaller value than the reference value, the control of the converter circuit 1 is returned from the regeneration mode to the forward- conversion mode. |
